Experienced Operators - Industrial Masted Lift Truck (Pallet Only)

 

Course Objectives

To enable course members to:

· State the reasons for operator training and understand the causes of lift truck instability and accidents

· State the responsibilities of operators to themselves and others including their legal duties

· Identify all the controls and state their functions; state the ratings of the truck and define de-rating

· State how load centres are calculated for the truck; carry out the daily or take-over checks, complying with legal duties, before operating and state the parts of a lift truck requiring particular attention

· Safely start up and manoeuvre the truck in open and confined confined spaces; correctly pick up and put down empty and loaded pallets or unit loads at different heights; understand and carry out "undercutting" correctly and both load and unload lorries or trailers

· Safely park and stop truck at end of operating

Who is the Course For?

· This course is designed for those who are experienced operators of industrial masted lift trucks and require training for an assessment and Certificate of Basic Training.

Duration/Format

· Two days (12 hours)

NB: may be run over three days to accommodate up to six trainees - see CLVL16X.

This course includes assessment. Those reaching the relevant standard will be awarded appropriate certification.

It is not an easy option and there will be minimal time for corrective training. Other than highly experienced staff will fail to reach the required standard and will fail the assessment.

Duration/Format

· One day (6 hours maximum)

This course includes assessment. Those reaching the relevant standard will be awarded appropriate certification.

· This course is designed for those who are experienced operators of rough terrain masted lift trucks and require training for an assessment and Certificate of Basic Training.

Duration/Format

· Two days (15 hours)
